Elections to Department Forum
Elections to the Department Forum take place from 29 - 30 April. VIP, TAP, PhD students and postgraduate students are up for election.

As something new you can run on a list and not only as an individual candidate. The deadline for listing is 21 March. The form to be used can be downloaded from the biomedical staff’s website, which also contains other information about the elections.

Questions concerning the elections can be directed to Secretariat manager Morten Pless.

New professor at the Department
Lone Sunde has been appointed Professor with special responsibilities (MSO) in medical genetics.
Congratulations to Lone. An inaugural lecture will be held on 21 March at 13:00 in the Bartholin auditorium.

NNF Laureate Research Grant
Again this year two grants of Dkr 40 million are at stake and the NNF has just made its call for applications. The deadline application is Friday 11 April. The right candidate: should be an outstanding scientist within biomedical and/or biotechnology research, with a publication and grant record that is exceptional for the applicant’s career stage. Can be either an established or a promising younger research leader on an international level. More information about the call.


The Royal Danish Academy of Sciences invites applications for the following grants and foundations: Dr Phil Ragna Rask-Nielsen's National Research Foundation and the Cays- scholarship
To be considered for the DrPhil Ragna Rask-Nielsen National Research Foundation the applicant must have at least a master's degree. The Cayx scholarship is awarded in even years to graduate students. Funding is not available for Bachelor students. Further information about individual scholarships and instructions for online application is available from the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences website. Application deadline for the above-mentioned scholarships is Tuesday 1 April 2014.

The Danish Council for Strategic Research
The funds are distributed i.e. for clinical research, research on health and quality of life and stem cell research. Deadline: Monday 28 April 2014. The European Research Council (ERC)
At the Euro Center’s course " The Succesful ERC Applicant " held on 27 March 2014 in Aarhus, AU researchers will instruct scientists how to present their research and CV in the best possible way. Participants will be instructed how to draw attraction to their project and application and separate it from the crowd and what to particularly focus the application on. Researchers who are successful in ERC grants will participate and share their experiences. Registration for the course (the successful ECR applicant).
