VIDEO: Meet this year’s Fogh-Nielsen finalists

Not only their research, but also their communication skills will be assessed when three talented PhD students meet up in this year’s Fogh-Nielsen competition at the PhD Day on 20 January. You can get a small taste here, where the finalists present their research projects in roughly one minute.

Cecilie Siggaard Jørgensen, Shokouh Arjmand and Nikolaj Hvidt Bøgh will compete in this year’s Fogh-Nielsen competition, which will be held on PhD Day, 20 January.

There will be plenty to experience at this year’s PhD Day as nearly 400 PhD- and research year students present their studies.

The day also includes the awarding of the JCD prize for PhD supervisor of the year, and the 3R prize to a PhD student who has worked to implement more gentle methods of animal testing. In addition, there will be a major attraction: the Fogh-Nielsen competition, in which the three finalists, all of whom are PhD students at the Department of Clinical Medicine, will compete for the honour and a share in the cash prize of DKK 125,000 which accompanies the award of the Fogh-Nielsen scholarship.

The winner, and the PhD student who receives the greatest share of the prize money, will be the one who can give the best ten-minute presentation of his or her research project.

The competition will take place on Friday 20/1 at 9:40 am in the Per Kirkeby Lecture Theatre in the Lakeside Lecture Theatres.
All are welcome to drop by and watch.
