VIDEO: Meet the finalists in this year's Fogh-Nielsen competition
Both research and communication skills are assessed when three talented PhD students from Health meet in the Fogh-Nielsen competition at this year's PhD Day. See the three finalists here and get a preview of their research projects.
A highlight in the faculty's calendar year is just around the corner. On Friday January 19, the Lakeside Lecture Halls will be buzzing, when 420 PhD and research year students gather to present their research projects at the PhD Day 2024.
A climax of the day is the Fogh-Nielsen competition, which takes place in the Per Kirkeby Auditorium at 9:25 AM. Here, the three finalists will compete for the honor and the distribution of a prize sum of 125,000 DKK.
Below, you can see who has been selected as this year's finalists and watch them each give a short video presentation of their research projects.
Plenty to experience at PhD Day
Everyone is welcome to participate in PhD Day, and besides the many presentations from PhD students, the program also includes two keynote speeches; one by Unnur Þorsteinsdóttir, Vice President for Research at deCODE Genetics and Dean of Health at the University of Iceland, and the other by Jonas Egebart, Director of the National Health Authority.
At the evening party, you can also experience the awarding of both the JCD Prize for this year's PhD supervisor and the 3R Prize to a PhD student who has worked on implementing more humane methods in animal testing.
