Hakon Leffler is one of the world’s leading experts in glycobiology and immunology and serves as professor at Division of Microbiology, Immunology and Glycobiology at Lund University, Sweden. He was among the first discoverers the family of glycol-binding proteins to day known as galectins, during his tenure at University of California, San Francisco.
