Want to give your PhD an innovation twist?

In January 2024, the Graduate School at Health will host a new two-day workshop, where PhD students can learn more about transforming knowledge into a product and where they will be able to test health innovation in practice by solving a case from the pharmaceutical industry. There are still a few places available on the workshop.

The new interdisciplinary innovation workshop is part of the graduate school's business initiative aimed at building bridges between the university and the business community and providing PhD students with the chance to scope out an alternative career path. Photo: AU Photo

Have you ever thought about how you might turn your research into a business and what it takes in terms of business understanding and development to commercialise knowledge outside the walls of the university?

Then the graduate school's workshop “Fill up your toolbox for future commercial research collaborations” might be a good place to start. Over two days on 17-18 January 2024, you will learn about business development within the healthcare industry, health innovation and sustainable ideas that solve real health problems.

During the workshop, the pharmaceutical company Roche will present a case for you to solve with other PhD students with widely different backgrounds and skills, but with the same entrepreneurial spirit as yourself. There will be expert guidance from competent teaching staff.

You and your team will present your solution at PhD Day 2024 in front of an expert panel and other interested parties. You can use the presentation instead of submitting an abstract and presenting your own research at PhD Day.

Read much more about the workshop on the graduate school's website and sign up no later than 30 October 2023.
