Invitation: Come to the annual meeting of the Cardiovascular Network

Next month, the Cardiovascular Network at Health will be holding its third annual meeting. This time the annual meeting has been extended to an all-day event with a focus on social inequality, digital health, COVID-19 and inflammation. Anyone with an interest in heart disease in a broad sense is welcome.

At the annual meeting of the Cardiovascular Network on 11 October 2022, participants will have an opportunity to network with colleagues and hear various types of presentation on the themes of social inequality, digital health, COVID-19 and inflammation in relation to heart disease.

“It will be hugely exciting. Not only have we expanded the format from a half-day to an all-day event, but we have also succeeded in attracting some of the most talented researchers within our field,” says Associate Professor Morten Schmidt of the Department of Clinical Medicine, who is vice-chair of the Steering Committee for the Cardiovascular Network and one of the organisers of the annual meeting.

When the annual meeting begins on 11 October 2022, participants can look forward to presentations in four different tracks, each of which will be introduced by two keynote presentations:

  • social inequality
  • digital health
  • COVID-19
  • Inflammation.

All of the tracks are highly topical and extremely relevant to research and teaching within the cardiovascular area.

“I’m particularly looking forward to the session on COVID-19 and heart disease, where we, as professional colleagues, will have an opportunity to summarise and discuss what we have learned from the pandemic. This, in my opinion, is both important and necessary if we are to convert the lessons learned into new knowledge that can develop our common professional area and contribute to better handling of any future pandemics, with a special focus on heart patients,” says Morten Schmidt.

You can find out more in the programme (PDF), which also includes poster presentations and flash talks.
