Back to the 80s: See the photos from the Faculty Party 2025
There were mustaches, denim vests, crimped hair, and eyeshadow in all the colours of the rain-bow. Here are the photos from a spectacular 80s-themed faculty party.

It was almost like stepping back into the 1980s when entering the DGI House for Health’s annual faculty party on Friday, 22 August 2025.
Both decorations, outfits, and music radiated the colorful decade, and around 350 festive employees from all the faculty’s departments and the administration center turned the late-summer evening into a true celebration.

The red… sorry, the pink, actually neon-pink carpet was rolled out, and at the end stood Dean Anne-Mette Hvas, as tradition dictates, greeting each festively dressed employee.

It was Professor Thomas Corydon from the Department of Biomedicine who suggested to the dean that this year’s faculty party should be an 80s party – mainly because of the music.

All the guests made an effort, and many dressed up so their outfits matched the 80s theme of the party.

“I have been looking forward to tonight. It will be a trip down memory lane – at least for those of us old enough to remember the 1980s. The 80s symbolised my youth. That’s when I went to high school and began studying medicine in Aarhus. Most of all, I loved the soundtrack, which consisted of Talking Heads, The Cure, Genesis, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, and the Danish bands Kliché, Marquis de Sade, and Disneyland After Dark,” said the dean in her welcome speech.

The photo wall was also dressed in 80s pastel colours for the occasion, and the food truck was ready to serve late-night snacks (tacos) into the early hours. See all the pictures of your Health colleagues in the photo series at the end of the article.

Instructor Heidi from the dance studio “Victoria, let’s dance” opened the floor and invited everyone to join a group dance, so the faculty’s employees could learn the hottest moves after dinner. And if the dance steps were a little heavy after the DHL run, it certainly didn’t show, as the DJ played a parade of 80s classics that kept the dance floor buzzing until the party closed at 12:30 a.m.

For one night, the DGI House was transformed into an 80s inferno with idol posters on the walls, Rubik’s cubes on the tables, and Bananarama and Rick Astley blasting from the speakers.
