Administration
Der er nu opslået 2 ekstra administrative stillinger i vores ny institut. Det handler dels om en stilling som sekretariat
sleder, dels en AC-konsulent. Ansøgningsdeadline for begge stillingerne er 25/9, og de er begge opslået eksternt. Sekretariatslederen skal bl.a. have personaleansvar for de administrative medarbejdere. AC-konsulenten skal bl.a. involveres i planlægning af instituttets aktiviteter, herunder at udarbejde og følge op på strategier, handleplaner og beslutninger. Udover disse 2 stillinger, der forhåbentligt hurtigt bliver besat, skønner jeg at der er behov for yderligere administrative stillinger på instituttet.
Nye medlemmer af forskningsudvalg og institutforum
Forskningsudvalget er blevet udvidet med professor Jens Peter Andersen, og institutforum med bioanalytiker Inger B. Kristoffersen. Begrundelser: At gøre udvalgene mere dækkende.
Strategiprocesser
Universitetet har igangsat en proces med at formulere ny målsætninger og udforme handleplaner for at nå målene. Man benytter en model baseret på strategikort (balanced scorecard) der bl.a. har den fordel, at der ikke skal skrives meget tekst. Vi forsøger at indpasse det arbejde med de diskussioner vi alligevel skal have på instituttet med at formulere strategier. Vi forventer at få konsulent-bistand til arbejdet i løbet af få uger (mere information følger).
Akademisk råd på institutniveau
En arbejdsgruppe på AU har foreslået etablering af akademiske råd på institutniveau, og forslaget kunne blive inkorporeret i universitetets fremtidige vedtægt. Størrelsen af rådet foreslås at kunne være forskellig på de forskellige institutter, og rådets sammensætning skal sikre en “passende” repræsentation for VIP, TAP og studerende. På sigt kunne det ny valgte råd erstatte vores midlertidige institutforum. Administration
Two additional administrative positions are advertised at our new Department – a position as departmental head of administration and an AC-consultant position. Application deadline for both positions is 25 September. Both are advertised externally. The departmental head of administration will among other things be responsible for the administrative staff. The AC-consultant will be involved in the planning of departmental activities, including the preparation and follow-up of strategies, action plans and decisions. Besides these two positions, that will hopefully soon be filled, I estimate a need for more administrative positions at the Department.
New members of the research committee and Department forum
The research committee has been expanded by Professor Jens Peter Andersen and Department forum by technician Inger B. Kristoffersen. Explanation: To make the committees more comprehensive.
Strategy processes
The university has initiated a process of formulating new objectives and developing plans to reach the goals. A model based on strategy cards (balanced scorecard) that has the advantage of minimizing the amount of text to be written, is used. We try to fit in the work with the discussions we will have at the Department formulating strategies. We expect to have a consultant assisting with the work within a few weeks (more details to follow).
Academic Council at the Department level
A working group at the university has proposed the establishment of departmental academic councils. The proposal could be incorporated into the future statute of the university. The size of the council could vary depending on the particular department. The composition of the council must ensure an “adequate” representation of VIP, TAP and students. In the long term the new, elected council will replace our temporary Department forum. Who came first to use our new name
In the last newsletter I mentioned a new article published with our Department name. Since then I have discovered two articles that actually came before the said article. It’s the articles:
